“I looked on in solitude and silence, rejoicing at simply being alive…”

Climbing up the steep rock face I gazed in awe at the beautiful scene that unfolded before me. Perched high above the sea-line appeared a cluster of immense red rock formations, sculptured by the wind, sea spray and rain throughout the ages. I paused for long moments; my eyes wide in amazement like that of an innocent child and simply looked on in silence. I was dimly aware of the gentle wind dancing around me, whistling gleefully around the rocks. Somewhere in the distance I heard the crashing of waves upon one another before giving way to the shore. With the passage of time, the gentle rays of the sun burst forth, casting their gorgeous glow, heralding the start of a new day as they brilliantly illuminated, a mosaic of pure clouds strewn across Heaven itself. I looked on in solitude and silence, rejoicing at simply being alive, surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation.
